Top Bank Philippines Inc. Partners with UnionPay to Drive Digital Inclusion

Top Bank Philippines Inc. has launched it’s partnership with UnionPay, marking a key milestone in Top Bank Philippines’ commitment to digital innovation, global connectivity, and inclusive banking for Filipinos across all income segments—from affluent clients to underserved communities.

The Membership and Trademark License Agreement was signed by Ismael R. Sandig, Top Bank President & CEO and Dr. Jian Jiangtao, UnionPay Southeast Asia Managing Director.

The newly launched Top Bank UnionPay Debit Card connects customers to one of the world’s largest payment networks. It is accepted by over 73 million merchants worldwide, usable in 183 countries and regions, and accessible through almost all ATMs globally, enabling cardholders to transact with ease whether locally or overseas.

Within the Philippines, the card is supported by BancNet’s nationwide network, providing access to 21,000 ATMs and approximately 304,000 POS terminals nationwide. This ensures that customers can enjoy convenient, reliable, and secure transactions for everyday banking and retail needs.

Built for today’s increasingly cashless and connected economy, the Top Bank UnionPay Debit Card offers practical and secure payment features that fit modern lifestyles:

  • Linkage to Alipay and WeChat Pay (Weixin Pay) for easy digital payments

  • E-commerce transactions, including popular platforms such as Lazada, Grab and other global online merchants
  • Fast and secure remittance services, allowing cardholders to receive cross-border remittances directly to their UnionPay Debit Card through UnionPay MoneyExpress.

These features allow customers to pay, shop, and receive funds safely and conveniently—whether in stores, online, or abroad.
